Meet Our Children’s Minister: Mitzi Hardegree
Mitzi Hardegree and her family have been members of SRBC for 14 years. Her Kingdom Kids ministry is a safe and fun way for children to begin studying the Bible’s message.
Mitzi is a 40-year-old member of the ministry staff at Smoke Rise. Born and raised in Warrior, Alabama, Mitzi attended Mortimer Jordan High School.
Family Life
Mitzi has enjoyed 18 lovely years of marriage with her husband, Matt. Together, they have two wonderful daughters.
The eldest Hardegree daughter, Madison, is 18 years old and attends Mortimer Jordan High School. Her younger sister, Maebry, is ten years old and attends Warrior elementary school.
Both kids are very engaged in after-school activities and keep the family busy. Mitzi and her family enjoy traveling and exploring new areas. When the family finds some time for relaxing, enjoying the sunshine and the water are some of their favorite pastimes.
In addition to Bible studies, Mitzi is a big fan of bunnies!
Mitzi’s Role at Smoke Rise Baptist Church
Mitzi Hardegree serves as our Children’s Minister at Smoke Rise Baptist. Smoke Rise offers Biblical education to kids of all ages, from Preschool to High School (and, of course, into adulthood!).
Mitzi has helped to design the Kingdom Kids ministry into an age appropriate and fun environment for children K-4th grade. The goal is to have a safe and fun experience while learning about God and His message. Many events are going on at the church at any given time.
With children’s ministry programs on both Sundays and midweek, the children at Smoke Rise have all kinds of opportunities to have fun and learn. Each program is specifically designed for your child’s age and learning level, so they can understand and remember the lessons from Kingdom Kids.

Mitzi is a big fan of Worship music. Mitzi loves to listen to Worship music as part of her everyday life. Her favorite song reflects her outlook on her life;

Mitzi Hardegree is a passionate Children’s Minister at Smoke Rise Baptist. Her classes are aimed at all kids and all levels, spreading the Word of the Lord through fun and creative styles.
