Meet Our High School Minister: Jason Brakefield
When working with high school students, a lack of passion can ruin the experience for any student. A positive and sincere High School Minister like Jason Brakefield can help encourage your teen to keep Christ in their life every day. Jason is a great minister for Smoke Rise Baptist Church, assisting the community’s young people down the best path.
Jason was born in Nectar, Alabama, and was raised in Cleveland. He attended Cleveland High School. He has been happily married for nine years to his lovely wife, Jordan.
Jason and Jordan share a nearly 5-year-old son named Andrew Bearett (who Jason lovingly calls his “human tornado”). Their home is also brightened by a grumpy 8-year-old yellow lab and husky mix named Porter.
Fun Facts and Hobbies
Jason loves to stay busy with various hobbies, including cooking, cleaning, home maintenance, and mowing his lawn.
Jason loves sports, including the local high school teams, Alabama Crimson Tide, the Red Sox, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Falcons. He loves all different cuisines, especially Italian, Mexican, cake, burgers, Italian, and of course, Italian.
Jason’s favorite thing of all is his family!
Jason’s Role at Smoke Rise
Jason has been a member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church for two years. He loves the devotion to the messages of Jesus and the communities that the church serves.
As High School Minister, Jason serves grades 8 through 12 and their families. Jason thoroughly enjoys sharing the Word of Jesus with students, parents, and families and helping direct the lost. Jason takes pride in sharing His comfort with those who are hurting and His encouragement with the discouraged.
Jason’s Favorite Verses
Jason Brakefield’s favorite verse is Hebrews 12:1-2, which reads;
”Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
